Day 11: Turning the Corner…?

Significant progress. That’s the headline today.

The first major hurdle was always going to be shifting the focus — from how to leave to how to get better. We’re not all the way there yet, but I’d say we’re relatively close. And that’s no small thing.

It’s still hard. It’s still a major adjustment. But Willy is doing his absolute best. Liz and I are trying our best. And all of the participants — all the moving parts and people involved — seem to be finding their rhythm. The cogs are finally starting to mesh.

At our very first meeting, we were told that the first two weeks are typically the hardest — that everyone has their own adjustment curve. Not everyone shows it the same way, and not everyone struggles with the same things. But the process is real. And at 11 days in, we’re seeing real progress.

As we approach that artificial two-week milestone, I’d say we’re getting there.

One day at a time.
